What are the programme aims?

Primary Care Network (PCN) of Nuneaton and Bedworth aim to help the local community work towards a healthier lifestyle. Our focus has been to raise awareness of the benefits from regular physical activity and eating a well-balanced diet as well as increasing peoples social circle and to venture out more into the community.

Active Sky Blues is a 12-week weight management program working in partnership with Nuneaton and Bedworth PCN and aims to implement a healthier lifestyle through increasing activity and making simple and sustainable changes to their diet. Each session consists of a 45-minute presentation discussing different modules followed by a 45-minute circuit session.

We pride ourselves on each participant feeling valued and positive throughout our time together and we promise that there is no judgement on sessions and that everyone is there for similar reasons, no matter how big or small each person’s goals may be.

    These sessions are all based around 6 modules which are split into 2-week blocks. The modules we cover are:

    • Healthy Weight
    • Eating Well
    • Exercise
    • Mental Wellbeing
    • Sleep and Tiredness
    • Smoking and Alcohol

    By successfully achieving the above we aim to reduce/increase the following:

    • Help increases social circle
    • Increase physical activity
    • Reduce weight
    • Reduce stress and anxiety
    • Encourages a healthier lifestyle

    To be eligible to self refer to one of our Active Sky Blues sessions, you must be over the age of 18 and be registered at one of the eleven GP surgeries within the Nuneaton and Bedworth Primary Care Network (PCN).
