Girls Players Development Centre
What is it?
The Girls Player Development Centre provides an additional training opportunity for players that want to improve their game.
Our UEFA C and B licensed coaches utilise a technical curriculum planned keeping in mind the Long Term Player Development approach, and bespoke to the ability of the players attending.
The coaches support players with their strengths, while focusing on improving their weaknesses so players can become the best version of themselves on and off the pitch. Training at the Girls Player Development Centre does not interfere with players’ grassroots clubs’ schedule. Further, it provides a pathway into our Girls Emerging Talent Centre.
When and where is it? What are the Costs?
The Girls Player Development Centre costs £32 per month. Training sessions are at Blue Coat school, CV1 2BA on Friday evenings 6pm to 9pm with the following schedule:
6pm – 7:30pm – U8, U9, U10, U11, U12
7:30pm – 9pm – U13, U14, U15, U16
What do we aim to achieve at the Girls Player Development Centre?
- Improve the standard of players across the local grassroots leagues by providing an extra advanced training opportunity
- Provide coach mentoring to young athletes so to support their career
- Identify and confirm talent that could progress onto England Women’s pathway
What does the pathway look like?
Within Sky Blues in the Community, we have set up a pathway from the Girls Player Development Centre where players are supported with their strengths, and improve on their weaknesses so to improve their game or have an opportunity to enter the Girls Emerging Talent Centre.
Progressions from the Girls Emerging Talent Centre include referrals to Discover My Talent events where players are scouted by the England Women’s scouts so to be identified for the England Women’s Regional Top Talent Groups.
