Sky Blues in The Community Launch Girls ETC Trials

Sky Blues in the Community

Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC) will be hosting trials for their Girls Emerging Talent Centre (GETC) in July for the upcoming 2026/27 season, continuing from what has been a very successful programme for us.

Our GETC provides a very positive environment for young female players to develop holistically whilst also maintaining and developing a love for the game. Weekly training sessions and matches in a variety of formats have contributed to a very successful season when it comes to individual player development. During the 25/26 season, we had 25% of our players either attend trials or secure a place within a female academy setup. In addition to this, we have had girls secure call ups to represent their county football teams.

What is a Girls Emerging Talent Centre?

A GETC is a nationwide run programme that identifies and nurtures talented players by providing accessible training opportunities that focus on individual development. Centres offer players increased opportunities to train with well qualified coaches and play games in varied formats (e.g. usual age formats, 6v6, 3v3, futsal etc.) and players get to do all this without giving up their football commitments at their grassroots club.

At Sky Blues in the Community, our players will be coached by UEFA B & A licensed coaches with strong backgrounds in football coaching, have access to a physiotherapist during training and experience pitch related S&C sessions with a strength and conditioning coach.

How will the GETC look at Sky Blues in the Community?

  • 60 spaces in total available within a dual band format (U9/10, U11/12, U13/14 & U15/16)
  • 30 weeks of free training September to May (1.5 hours for U9-12 & 2 hours for U13-16)
  • Friday 5:30-7pm (U9-12) & Friday 7-9pm (U13-16)
  • Games every 6 weeks
  • Individual Development reports
  • Access to physiotherapist & strength and conditioning coach
