Sky Blues in the Community (SBitC) are proud to announce the launch of girls’ football teams for the 2026/27 season, marking an exciting new chapter in our football pathway.
From Under 7s (Year 2) through to Under 18s (Year 12), we will be introducing teams across multiple age groups, providing young female players with the opportunity to participate in competitive Saturday league football within a professional, supportive environment.
Our Coaching Philosophy
At the heart of all Sky Blues in the Community football provision is our mission:
“To provide high-quality coaching and a positive coaching environment that supports every player in reaching their potential.”
Our focus is firmly placed on long-term player development rather than short-term results. We aim to create a positive learning environment where each individual is supported to grow both on and off the pitch.
To support this, all teams will follow a coaching syllabus inspired by the Coventry City Academy curriculum. This structured programme covers a wide range of technical and tactical topics, delivered in a progressive order to ensure players develop in a holistic and effective manner.

What Will the Programme Look Like?
Players selected into the programme can expect:
- Weekly midweek training sessions delivered on 3G artificial grass pitches
- Saturday league fixtures, competing in:
- Central Warwickshire Girls Football League
- Mid Warwickshire Saturday Mixed League
- Midland Junior Premier League (MJPL)
- Junior Premier League (JPL)
- FA Licensed coaches across all age groups
- Goalkeeper-specific training, delivered by FA-qualified goalkeeper coaches
- Initial player assessments, consisting of a five-week trial period with written feedback provided
- Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for every player, reviewed twice throughout the season
- Showcase games held during school half-term periods
