Premier League Primary Stars

Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to be active and develop important life skills.

The programme has been developed and is managed by the Premier League Charitable Fund, a Premier League funded charity which aims to create positive and lasting sporting, health and education outcomes for children, young people and the wider community.

Available entirely free to every primary school in England and Wales, it inspires girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field.

Designed by teachers for teachers, the curriculum-linked teaching resources support English, Maths, PSHE and PE, with flexible activity ideas, worksheets, lesson plans, assemblies and exclusive videos. PSHE topics include resilience, diversity, self-esteem and fair-play.

Sky Blues in the Community staff also work with teachers to deliver fun, educational sessions in a range of subjects within local partner schools.

The impact in schools

  • 90% of teachers feel that the programme has increased their pupils’ demonstration of at least one key life value, with resilience, determination and self-esteem coming out top.
  • Almost 90% of teachers who used the PE resources agree that the programme has increased their pupils’ enjoyment of sport and physical activity.
  • 8 in 10 teachers said that the programme has had a positive impact on their school community.

‘The biggest advantages of the programme are that it is a free resource, it has the appeal to children who are football fans, it gives them goals, and offers a variety of activities to suit different types of learners.’  Premier League Primary Stars teacher

Living the values

Premier League values underpin everything on offer, encouraging children to:

  • Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals
  • Be inspiring – set a great example to others
  • Be connected – work well with others and in a team
  • Be fair – treat people equally and think of others
